Crediton Devon Wedding ~ Emma & Ross
We know we always rave about how lovely our couples are (they truly are!) but the same has to be said of Emma and Ross. Two warm, gentle, laid back souls full of humour and fun and with such kindness and thoughtfulness for others, they were inspiring to be around. Their wedding day started in their home town of Crediton, Devon where they were married at the very impressive Collegiate Church which stands big and proud in the pretty town centre. Their reception followed at The Bickleigh Mill, Newton Abbot.
Sometimes, when we get together with our couples just before their wedding we often get asked, ‘what shall we do if it rains?’. We try to reassure them that they’ll enjoy the day whatever the weather and we also say there’s no pressure from us – if you fancy a walk in the rain that’s fine if you want to stay indoor that’s fine also. We let them know we have a few white umbrellas and that we’re happy to work outside if they think that’s something they may like to do on the day. So when it decided to pour down just after we’d got some group shots done at the church (lucky!), we asked Emma & Ross what they wanted to do. We had a couple of hours spare before they were due to make an entrance at their reception so when Emma replied, “yeah let’s just do this” and Ross readily agreed we all grabbed some umbrellas and had a walk round the church. And we’re so pleased they did! What sweet captures of them both giggling in the rain, not at all worried and just enjoying the moment with each other. It was lovely.
After arriving at the Bickleigh Mill to a warm welcome from their guests, the drinks and catching up began to flow. In the early evening the rain stopped for a little while which gave us another chance to capture a few more couple portraits.
After the wedding we received this lovely comment from Emma’s mum, Mandy, …“A huge thank you to Mel and Jen for enjoying the day with us and providing beautiful memories. You were so great to have around and I know Ross and Emma were very relaxed in your company. Cannot wait to see the full album. Very proud Mother of the Bride”.
Thank you both for looking after us and sharing this memorable day with us. Wishing you so much love and happiness for your future together. Jen & Mel xx
