Destination Weddings Italy
Jen and I would love to photograph some destination weddings! Whilst on holiday in Italy, I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of weddings that I came across. The couples were being photographed next to rather public iconic landmarks, including the Pantheon and the Colosseum, and tourists were snapping away on their phones too. Some of the photographers had their brides doing crazy things, like posing on a chair in the middle of a crowded piazza or pouting on a gondola! I hung around in the background, used my broken Italian to ask permission to take some photos and snapped away! I was hoping to capture a flavour of how the Italian photographers worked and, of course, a few candid moments in between poses. It was an early start in Venice as photographers take their couples to the area around St Mark’s Square at 6 o’clock in the morning to avoid the crowds!
One day we hope to be invited to photograph destination weddings for our couples (we’d do it for the price of a flight ticket and a cheap hotel for the night!). In the meantime, here’s a selection of my holiday snaps with a difference from Rome, Florence, Sienna and Venice.
