Old Wardour, Salisbury Wedding ~ Ellie & Martin
Obviously all weddings that we get asked to document are an honour, but when it’s someone you know, that honour has a cherry on the top!
Ellie & I (Jen), worked together a few years ago and after she moved away from the area it was nice to stay in contact and hear about her and Martins blossoming romance!
When she asked Mel and I if we’d travel to Salisbury to shoot her wedding at the Old Wardour Castle, I replied with a big fat YES, ABSOLUTELY YES! I couldn’t wait to watch her get married and be able to photograph a wedding in such an atmospheric, peaceful location.
After a sunny morning commute along the A303, passing through some picturesque Wiltshire villages, we arrived at the Castle and got familiar with the grounds. We introduced ourselves to a very handsome, relaxed groom who had a constant unwavering smile! Guests starting arriving and sat out side, basking in the warm spring sunshine.
Ellie soon arrived and I waited with, Martin at the end of the aisle. Ellie’s walk toward Martin was probably one of the most emotional I think I have witnessed so far. So full of heartfelt emotion and love. I had to give myself a mental nudge to stay professional!
The rest of afternoon was enjoyed by guests wondering around the old castle ruins or sat on the grass enjoying the view of the lake with some cold, sparkling Prosecco. Family & friends gathered for a few group shots then we all left and headed for the reception that was held at the White Hart Hotel, in Salisbury.
We were kindly invited to stay on for some dinner before we headed home, so we both enjoyed a delicious wild mushroom risotto and scrumptious warm chocolate brownie! ~ Thanks guys!
A message I received yesterday from Ellie put a little spring in my step!…
“Omg We’ve just finished watching them – I’m in absolute bits, you captured it all beautifully and brought back so many memories from the day that we’d forgotten I’ve laughed and cried. Thank you really doesn’t seem enough but wow just wow, I can’t wait to show them to our families. You completely captured the essence of the day. I could watch them over and over again. I never thought I would like looking at pictures of me but I love them thank you gorgeous girl xxx”
