Can we have a second photographer?
If you feel that your wedding needs two photographers, for example if you’d like bride and groom prep in different locations, then I work with a photographer friend of mine, Jen, who I have known for many years. We have worked together before and have the same style and approach to shooting your wedding.
What equipment do you use?
I use a Nikon camera bodies and carry a selection of lenses and flashes and always carry spare batteries. I use SD memory cards and have back up memory slots in the cameras (recording your images twice).
Are you insured?
Absolutely! Public Liability Insurance certificates are available on request.
Will we be able to meet up with you before we decide to book?
Of course you can! I actually encourage this as I love to meet my couples initially for a relaxed no obligation chat. I want you to choose the right photographer and getting to know each other a little will really help you with this important decision. I will also meet you a month before the big day which gives me the opportunity to discuss your plans in more detail.
Do I have to choose one of your packages or can you do a bespoke package?
I mainly work around two packages (half day and full day), but I can adjust them to suit. Please see the ‘price guide’ page for further information. I also do elopement weddings and smaller, midweek weddings.
What happens if it’s raining on our wedding day?
Well apparently this is a good omen! I will have a little scout around your venue and find a suitable spot for group photos and a few pretty indoor spots for some lovely couple shots. If you’re not worried about the rain then neither am I! I always take large white umbrellas with me and they look really pretty in photos.
What happens if you are poorly?
Firstly, since I started in 2011 I haven’t missed a wedding due to illness or anything else for that matter. I will do everything in my power to be there. If for some reason I really cannot be at your wedding, I know a wonderful network of qualified and experienced photographers throughout Devon who I would call on to see if they could cover the day.
We know you’re a documentary style photographer but can we still get some group shots?
Yes you can, but try to limit your total number of shots. Within a few carefully orchestrated group photos I will provide a formal record of everyone who was at your wedding: bride and groom family groups photos that can be given to relatives; a bridal party group to show off your style and colour theme and a whole group photo to give you a record of everyone who attended. I’ll do this as swiftly as possible so that you can get on with enjoying your drinks reception and chatting to your guests.
We can’t wait to see our photos! How long will it take to receive them?
After your wedding day I go into editing mode! Firstly, I back up all of your images onto an external hard drive and onto my computer hard drives. I am more than happy to give you a little preview of your photos on Facebook the next day. Each image is edited giving you a mix of colour and black & white photographs. My current turn around time for getting all your photos to you is 2-3 weeks. The photos are usually waiting for you when you return from honeymoon!
