A guide to Henlade House
There’s exciting news for Somerset couples planning their wedding! The team behind Rockbeare Manor (one of my favourite Devon wedding venues to photograph) are opening a brand new venue in Taunton called Henlade House. As a wedding photographer in Devon and Somerset, I’m excited to see what’s coming. The new venue will be able to host up to 100 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Located just outside Taunton, it’s in the perfect position for couples from Devon, Somerset and Bristol. Venue hire starts at £3250 for summer weddings and you’ll pay for food and drinks on top. Here’s what we know so far and why Henlade House is set to become one of the region’s most sought-after wedding venues.
A Dream Setting for Wedding Photography
Henlade House was built in the early 1800s. The Italian architect incorporated large windows, high ceilings and a central spiral staircase. It’s a classic, Grade II listed Georgian manor house with elegant features and a clean, timeless feel. Formerly a hotel, this stunning building is now being updated and launched as a wedding venue. Other venues in the group include Rockbeare Manor and Coombe Lodge. If these venues are anything to go by, Henlade House will be equally stylish. There’s a sneak peek on their website and I love the sash windows that let in plenty of light, the decorative plaster coving and elegant chandeliers. The grounds, set in the Somerset countryside, are a prefect backdrop for those relaxed couple photos.
