Devon Barn Wedding ~ Laura & Dave

DIY wedding at Torbay Party Barn

Laura and Dave wanted something a little bit different when they created their DIY Devon barn wedding. They chose Torbay Party Barn as their unusual, rustic venue. It was a blank canvas for them to create their perfect low-key wedding. The couple also wanted to create a wedding on a budget and lots of DIY crafting helped with that. Laura transformed the barn with miles of home-made bunting and fairy lights.  They wanted a more personalised type of ceremony so I put them in touch with Sarah at Celebration Ceremonies who I’d met at a wedding fair. I love it when I’m able to help our couples create their dream day! Their hand fasting ceremony allowed them to write their own vows, which were read in a moving ceremony in front of family and friends. There was barely a dry eye in the house or should I say barn?

Relaxed wedding photographer in Torbay

The whole day was relaxed and just had such a lovely atmosphere. After the speeches, guests enjoyed freshly cooked pizza from the South Devon Pizza Company who Laura and Dave had discovered at a festival. Rustic flowers, a vintage-style dress from Luna Daisy Bridal and yellow bridal shoes all added to the quirkiness of the day.  The wedding favours were home-made little pots of jam – how cute! The Devon countryside provided the perfect backdrop for some romantic couple shots.  I spent the whole day photographing bridal prep right through to the first dance and beyond. I loved capturing all the little details and the fun and laughter of the day. Here’s a small selection of their wedding photos…
