Torbay Party Barn Wedding

Weddings at Torbay Party Barn

Lucy & Poppy’s rustic wedding at Torbay Party Barn

Lucy and Poppy wanted a laid-back, relaxed wedding so Torbay Party Barn was the perfect choice for them. If you book a wedding here, you have access from the Wednesday before your big day to transform the barn. Fabric drapes and fairy lights added some structure and light to the ceremony space. Ribbons in rainbow colours adorned the chairs, celebrating this LGBT wedding. The tables were decorated with rustic logs and vases of wild flowers. Guests were treated to an individual cream tea in a cute little box and there was a pizza van in the evening.

Poppy and Lucy are the loveliest couple and they wanted all their guests to feel comfortable and included. One of the bridesmaid’s signed the vows and speeches for the friends of the couple who were deaf. This was such a lovely touch and something I haven’t seen at a wedding before. The fields surrounding the barn were the perfect spot for those relaxed couple photos. Here’s a little preview of their day…

Laura & Dave’s DIY wedding at Torbay Party Barn

The first wedding I shot at Torbay Party Barn was around 8 years ago! Laura and Dave wanted something a little bit different when they created their DIY barn wedding. Torbay Part Barn was the prefect blank canvas for them to create their DIY, budget-friendly wedding. Laura transformed the barn with miles of home-made bunting and added balloons and paper lanterns. She decorated the tables with hessian runners and recycled jam jars with wild flowers. The wedding favours were cute, little pots of home-made jam. Torbay party barn gives you the freedom to choose your own caterers. After the speeches, guests enjoyed freshly cooked pizza from a local pizza van that Laura and Dave had discovered at a festival. I love food vans at a wedding – they offer a fun, relaxed option and can help save money too!

Laura and Dave wanted a more personalised type of ceremony so I put them in touch with Sarah at Celebration Ceremonies who I’d met at a wedding fair. They wrote their own vows for the hand-fasting ceremony. The whole day was relaxed and just had such a lovely atmosphere.  Rustic flowers, a vintage-style dress and funky Irregular Choice bridal shoes all added to the quirkiness of the day. The Devon countryside provided the perfect backdrop for some romantic couple shots.  I spent the whole day photographing bridal prep right through to the first dance and beyond. I loved capturing all the little details and the fun and laughter of the day. Here’s a small selection of their wedding photos…
