Rustic outdoor wedding in North Devon
Beth and Alex’s rustic, farm wedding at Buck’s Cross near Bideford in North Devon was an absolute joy to photograph! This laid-back couple really wanted guests to enjoy the day and have a good time and there was a relaxed vibe to the celebrations.
Beth opted not to have bridal prep photos so I made my way straight to St Anne’s Church in Buck’s Cross where I awaited Alex’s arrival on his beloved tractor! The pretty little church soon filled up and guests waited for the bride to arrive. The ceremony was lovely and Beth and Alex couldn’t stop smiling. They were showered in confetti as they left the church before heading off…you guessed it, in the tractor!
DIY, eco friendly wedding
The reception was held in a marquee on a nearby field and Beth and Alex had done a lot of the preparation and décor themselves. Recycled glass jars were filled with flowers and dotted along the wooden tables. A double decker bus served drinks as guests mingled in the Devon sunshine. There were lots of giggles during the speeches and everyone enjoyed a meal supplied by local caterers.

After dinner we went for a stroll away from the guests to capture those relaxed couple shots; they walked, chatted and laughed together while I snapped away. Of course, we had to have some shots of the tractor too! As the sun went down, we even managed to capture a sunset shot. I hope you enjoy this little taster of their rustic, country wedding…
