Intimate wedding venue in Devon

Sian and Josh’s small wedding at the Horn of Plenty near Tavistock was just perfect and I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer! The couple had originally planned to get married in Greece but as the COVID travel restrictions went on, they made the decision to go ahead and have their wedding here in Devon. Guests numbers were limited to 30 and there were some restrictions in place, for example, the speeches had to be outdoors. But this didn’t deter Sian and Josh!

On the morning of the wedding, I met Sian in Paignton to capture the start of her bridal prep. I think I was almost as excited as the girls to be back shooting a wedding again after such a long break! I loved capturing their girly giggles as they prepared for the big day. They all looked gorgeous!

Outdoor wedding ceremony in Devon

It was a gloriously sunny day and their ceremony took place overlooking the Devon countryside. You could have been fooled into thinking they were actually having their wedding on a Greek hillside after all! Josh was pretty emotional when he saw his bride walk down the aisle – a reaction any bride would love! The registrars completed the legal paperwork indoors and the newlyweds couldn’t stop smiling as they emerged to a shower of confetti.

Relaxed wedding photography in Devon

The grounds of this pretty Devon wedding venue were perfect for capturing those relaxed couple photos before the wedding breakfast. Afterwards, the guests came out onto the terrace for the speeches. It was so good to be shooting those reactions – lots of laughter and a few tears! This brought the day to a close (dancing was advised against at this point so no evening reception). Sian and Josh were delighted with how their wedding had turned out. After a huge change in plans and then months of nervously waiting for updates it couldn’t have been more perfect.
