Wedding photography at Kingston Estate Devon
A guide to weddings at Kingston Estate
If you’re dreaming of a stylish yet relaxed wedding in Devon, Kingston Estate might just be your perfect venue. It’s tucked away in a secluded location and yet is only 14 miles from the A38 and just 4 miles from Totnes. This county house wedding venue has the perfect mix of traditional and modern spaces. The Georgian country house offers a grand backdrop for your photos whilst the modern reception space hosts your wedding breakfast. As a wedding photographer based in Devon, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing several weddings at Kingston Estate. One of my favourite things about this venue is the variety of spaces for your guests to enjoy. There’s plenty of opportunity for mingling and that means I can capture relaxed, natural photos throughout the day. In this post, I’ll share what makes Kingston Estate such a beautifully versatile location for wedding photography and showcase real wedding images from couples I’ve worked with.

Where to Get the Best Wedding Photos at Kingston Estate
- Georgian house and front steps
As the focal point of the estate, the main house is the perfect backdrop for some of the key moments of the day. For larger group shots, the front steps are ideal for gathering everyone together. I also like to capture the confetti tunnel leading away from the side door on the lawn. During golden hour, we can step away for a short while giving you some time alone and a chance to capture some romantic portraits with the house in the background. - Barn and courtyard
The perfect spot for summer evenings. I’ll be documenting all those candid moments as your guests mingle. You can even have your first dance outdoors under the festoon lights! - The hayloft
This light and airy, modern space contrasts with the traditional interiors of the main house giving you the best of both worlds. It’s a blank canvas for you to decorate and suits a range of wedding themes. From a photographer’s point of view, the natural light is perfect for capturing the laughter and tears during your speeches. - Walled garden
The walled garden is such a pretty spot for an outdoor ceremony. After you’ve said ‘I do’, guests can mingle over welcome drinks in the extensive garden. It’s one of my favourite spots to capture all those in-between moments so expect lots of natural shots as guests enjoy the setting.
Real weddings at Kingston Estate
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several beautiful weddings at Kingston Estate. From a summer wedding in the middle of a heatwave to a rainy day wedding with romantic umbrella portraits, each one has been unique. As a local Devon wedding photographer with experience working at Kingston Estate in different seasons and lighting conditions, I know exactly how to capture its best features while helping couples feel relaxed and natural in front of the camera. Here’s a glimpse at two very different weddings to show you that you can have a gorgeous wedding come rain or shine!
Charlotte & Ben’s summer wedding at Kingston Estate
Charlotte and Ben celebrated their wedding on the hottest day of the year! The walled garden ceremony was full of personal touches, including chalkboard signs made by Charlotte’s dad. Guests enjoyed garden games and mingled in the sunshine before moving into the hayloft for the meal, speeches, and cake cutting ~ featuring a homemade cake by Charlotte’s mum. The day ended with a magical first dance outside in the fairy-lit courtyard. A perfect summer celebration from start to finish.
Annabel & Niel’s rainy day wedding at Kingston Estate
Annabel and Niel tied the knot at Kingston Estate on a spring day that kept us all guessing weather-wise. After two recent snowstorms, the decision to hold their ceremony outdoors was made at the last minute and with the help of their guests, everything was quickly set up in the walled garden just in time. Bridal prep was calm and relaxed, with Annabel enjoying the morning with her bridesmaids and flower girls. After the ceremony, guests headed into the main house for drinks while we slipped away for a quick couple shoot. A light drizzle gave us the perfect excuse for some romantic umbrella shots! The speeches after dinner were full of laughs (especially when a few childhood stories came out). The evening kicked off in the undercrofts with the first dance before the party really got going. It was such a relaxed, joyful day and an absolute pleasure to capture.
