Bickley Mill Wedding ~ Emma & Ross

Welcome to Ross and Emma’s autumn wedding at Bickley Mill.  I met Emma at home to capture her bridal prep before heading into town to the Collegiate Church in Crediton for their ceremony. They chose the intimate setting of Bickley Mill which was perfect for their cosy wedding reception.

Documentary wedding photographer in Devon

Capturing a wedding in a documentary style means capturing things exactly as they are, come rain or shine! Sometimes, when I get together with my couples just before their wedding I get asked, ‘what shall we do if it rains?’. I try to reassure them that they’ll enjoy the day whatever the weather and also say there’s no pressure – if you fancy a walk in the rain that’s fine if you want to stay indoor that’s fine also. I always carry some white umbrellas with me just in case! We had a quick stroll around the church and captured some charming, relaxed couple photos. The umbrella made it even more romantic.

After arriving at the Bickley Mill to a warm welcome from their guests, the drinks and catching up began to flow. In the early evening the rain stopped for a little while which gave us another chance to capture a few more couple portraits. Here’s a little look at their day…
