Intimate wedding at Bickley Mill ~ Rachel & Jeremy

Rustic outdoor wedding in Devon

Rachel and Jeremy first booked me as their wedding photographer about 12 months before the big day. Once the coronavirus lockdown began we kept in touch as things developed. When it was announced that weddings could take place again, albeit with smaller numbers, Rachel and Jeremy decided to go ahead with a scaled down version of their original plans with an intimate wedding and reception at Bickley Mill near Newton Abbot in Devon. At the last minute, Boris threw them a curveball announcing that receptions couldn’t happen – literally with 24 hours notice! Getting married was the important part for this lovely couple so they went ahead with their ceremony and will have a party at a later date.

Small & elopement wedding photography in Devon

I met Rachel at home as she got ready – you can still have bridal prep photos with a small wedding! Her dress was from Wed2Be and the artificial bouquet was from Wild Floral Events, who also provided the décor. I then went over the the venue which looked so pretty set up for a socially-distanced outdoor ceremony. Rachel & Jeremy had an amazing day with close family and friends as they celebrated in the sunshine. Bickley Mill was the perfect intimate wedding venue. The decking was the perfect wetting for their rustic outdoor wedding. Afterwards, chairs were rearranged so that guests could sit in their family groups and celebrate with a drink. The garden was perfect for group photos in ‘bubbles’ and some relaxed newlywed photos too. Here’s the story of their small but perfect wedding in pictures…
