Magical Harry Potter themed castle wedding
Rob and Nicole’s wedding at Powderham Castle near Exeter was magical – I’m so glad they booked me for their wedding photography! After many years as a wedding photographer, it’s always a treat to shoot in a castle! From magic potions to a wedding cake inside a birdcage, their vision for a Harry Potter inspired wedding really came to life. I met Nicole as she was getting ready. Her hair looked amazing and the soft waves really showed off the colour. Nicole has a little baby girl and she absolutely rocked the multi-tasking mama role, feeding the baby in her wedding dress. I love capturing these natural, real-life moments.

The historic castle was the ideal setting for a Harry Potter themed wedding. Nicole and Rob opted for an outdoor ceremony in the garden. I loved the little birdcage flower decorations hanging from the chairs. Rob’s best men did a fab job scattering rose petals in their flamboyant way, which had everyone laughing. The couple exchanged vows in the sunshine and couldn’t take their eyes off each other. After the cermony, we went around to the front of the castle for a confetti tunnel. I love a confetti photo! Then we wandered the gardens for some relaxed couple photos.
The state dining room hosted the wedding breakfast. Gold candelabras and vases adorned the tables which complimented the glamorous decor of the room. In the evening it was transformed into a party room and celebrations were in full swing straight after the first dance. Nicole and Rob waited a long time for their wedding day due to covid so it was even more special to finally capture their day.
